WATCH: School Board won’t let parents discuss news article exposing employee’s porno filled social media feed

PHM Board of School Trustees President, Chris Riley, addresses the public at its meeting on August 8th, 2022.

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Penn Harris Madison Board of School Trustees actively prevented parents from bringing up and discussing recent revelations involving the pornography filled social media feed of a Penn High School employee. This comes despite the fact that the employee’s contract was listed on the agenda prior to being removed after a REAL News Michiana story uncovered his publicly accessible social media page full of naked men.

“If I can go off script for a moment and occupy your attention, I understand that there may be some parents who, in light of recent internet reports, might want to address the board on an issue involving PHM and personnel.” Board President Chris Riley said. “I ask you respectfully, please respect the rules because personnel issues absolutely cannot be discussed legally speaking.”

Riley fails to give Indiana Statute preventing the discussion of news articles, the hiring and background checking process of employees or any statute regarding the public discussing an employee’s actions that put children at risk. At least one parent explained they would not use their time, because they wished to discuss the issues laid out in the news article.

Last week, RNM published a story exposing the pornography filled social media feed of one of Penn High Schools’ marching band coaches. Andrew Mroczek, who also happens to be a major opponent of legislation protecting children from sexualized material and discussions, has a social media feed full of nude men. Many of the photographs on his feed display either a naked penis or buttocks. Several other pictures display men in tight underwear with their genitalia clearly visible through the fabric. Several of the captions of those photographs describe graphic sexual acts as well.

Mroczek’s social media feed was wide open to the public and easily accessible to children and students. He also frequently posted about PHM and the Penn High School marching band. The social media profile was quickly deleted after publication of the story.

Mroczek’s social media feed is also full of extreme political posts. Those posts also include what appears opposition to Florida’s child protection law that “prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through 3rd grade.” Many opposed to the law dishonestly coined the legislation as the “don’t say gay” bill. However, the word “gay” isn’t even in the bill.

“Gay kids will keep being born whether you say the word or not.” Mroczek posted to social media with several middle finger emojis.

According to Mroczek’s Facebook account, he has been the Visual Coordinator and Choreographer for Penn High School since 2017. Penn High School lists his title as the Visual Coordinator and Choreographer / Color Guard Director.

The PHM Board of School Trustees was supposed vote on an agreement with Mroczek for his services for the 2022-2023 school year at its August 8th meeting. That agenda item was removed only hours after RNM published its original story last week.
