NILES TWP., Mich. — Deputies in Berrien County arrested a well-known youth hockey coach during a child prostitution sting in Niles Township. According to court documents, 41-year-old Christien Joubert thought he was meeting a 15-year-old girl for sex when he was met by arresting officers during an undercover sting operation.
At the time of the arrest on May 12th, Joubert was the Director of Hockey Operations at the IceBox Skating Rink in South Bend. Joubert was also the coach of the youth hockey at the IceBox, known as the Irish Youth Hockey League, and also coaches a travel team that he and his wife run called North American Alliance Hockey Club. The North American Alliance Hockey Club includes a youth girls team.
According to arrest documents, Joubert responded to an advertisement on the prostitution website called Skipthegames.com. Joubert was communicating with who he thought was a 15-year-old girl. According to detectives, Joubert sent the assumed juvenile two pictures; one of his penis and another of his face and hand making a gesture for oral sex. The assumed child agreed to perform sexual acts in exchange for $80 and some soda.
While speaking with detectives, Joubert said he used the Skipthegames.com website a few times per month.

According to an email sent to families from the Irish Youth Hockey League, Joubert is no longer the Director of Hockey Operations at the IceBox.
