SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The St. Joseph County Republican Party smashed records at its annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday. With 550 people in attendance, the party blew away last year’s record attendance numbers by approximately 100 people.
To accommodate the larger crowd, the SJC GOP hosted this year’s event at the Four Winds Casino South Bend. For the past several years, the event had been held at the Gillespie Center on the campus of St. Mary’s College. Despite the larger venue, tickets were sold out and several people hoping to come last minute had to be turned away.
While former TV News personality, Governor Candidate and current Arizona Senate Candidate, Kari Lake, served as the keynote speaker, three of our own gubernatorial candidates, Curtis Hill, Eric Doden and Suzanne Crouch, all had short speaking roles. Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita and Congressman Rudy Yakym were, among others, were also in the audience.
The highlight of the event was to honor several long-time party volunteers — Women who have spent decades serving the SJC GOP.
After all expenses are paid out, the GOP expects to have raised between $50,000-$75,000 — potentially exceeding another Lincoln Day Dinner record.
