SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A South Bend man will spend the next three years in prison for forcing a child to help him masturbate using the child victim’s feet. Nearly a year after his initial arrest, a judge finally sentenced 19-year-old Che Danner to 3-years in the Department of Corrections followed by 1-year at Michiana Community Corrections (“MCC”) on home detention. Danner will also be placed on the sex offender registry. The sentencing comes after Danner pled guilty to molesting the child, who is under the age of 14. As part of the agreement, a charge for Performing Sexual Conduct in the Presence of a Minor was dismissed.
Court documents show the incident happened at a home in South Bend in November of 2022. However, the victim was too scared to report the incident until January of this year.
Detectives reported Danner initially gave the child marijuana, but said he was going to ask for something from her later. He then asked the child if she would help him masturbate. Danner then fondled the child and touched her private parts, all while the child protested the events by saying “no”.
According to police, Danner admitted to fondling the girl and masturbating in front of her.
