RNM’s Clifton French seeks SJC Library Board appointment

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — REAL News Michiana’s CEO and Editor-in-Chief has put his hat in the ring for an appointment to the St. Joseph County Library Board. The Republican led County Commissioners are responsible for the appointment of a term that is set to expire at the end of the year. The seat is currently being held by a lifelong Democrat who recently voted to keep pornographic material in the children’s sections of the library.

“The St. Joseph County Library Board needs someone who is unafraid of the perverted left and its activist mob dead set on exposing our children to adult material.” French stated. “I have two children under the age of 8. I currently will not take them to the local library out of a fear for their safety. This is unacceptable and needs to be addressed by a no-nonsense stakeholder.”

Clifton French founded RNM in a major part to fight against the left’s attack on our children. We uncover stories on a daily basis showing exactly what the left is exposing to kids in our schools, libraries and elsewhere.

PORN FOR KIDS

In August, RNM published a story about the St. Joseph County Democrat Party mobilizing dozens of activists to ensure a book about anal sex, poop fetishes and the use of mobile sex hookup apps was kept in sections for children in the St. Joseph County Library. All of this stemmed from a non-political mother of 3 requesting the book be moved when she noticed it sitting only feet away from titles such as Peppa Pig and Star Wars.

“It was very colorful,” The mother told RNM last week. “When I was 8-years-old and I walked past that, I would have said ‘that’s so pretty, I want to read that.’”

The book titled This Book is Gay includes graphic drawings of male and female sex organs and also directs children to experiment with sexual bathhouses. One chapter is titled “The ins and outs of sex.” Once again, all of this is just two feet away from titles like PJ Masks.

The mother’s request to have the book removed from sections for children was denied by the library director, the Board doubled down on its policy to allow this material to remain in children’s areas and Director of Library Branch Services Dawn Matthews compared offering sexual and non-sexual book to kids as promoting the same type of diversity as offering books about Donald Trump and Barack Obama.

“We are obligated to include materials offering different viewpoints, and some of these materials may be considered controversial or offensive to some,” Matthews said, according to an article by the South Bend Tribune.

The St. Joseph County Democrat Party is currently rallying support in an attempt to have their man reappointed to the board.

In an email sent to all SJC Democrat Party Members yesterday, the party asked everyone to email the County Commissioners to ask them to reappoint current Board Member Alan Feldbaum.

“Mr. Feldbaum’s term is up this month and the the St. Joseph County Commissioners are responsible for his appointment.” The email reads. “The Library reports that they sent out a letter requesting that the Commissioners reappoint Mr. Feldbaum in October. They no longer believe that his reappointment is secure, and they know that one member of the County Council has expressed her opposition. Councilwoman Drake is an outspoken critic of library policies.”

The SJC Library Board is made up of 7 members. Currently, all of them appear to be Democrats or Democrat leaning.

If you’d like to see someone on the board who is unafraid to confront the activist mob and protect children from the left’s perversions, reach out to the commissioners to voice your support for Clifton French’s appointment. You can find their emails below.
