I am often reminded of this quote from Frederick Douglass, “Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob, and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.” This quote has stood the testament of time and still rings true today.
I grew up in Elkhart, Indiana, at a time when racial division and hatred consumed our country. My father was a civil rights leader, veteran, postal worker, and small businessman who taught my siblings and me to have the courage and conviction to stand up for what is right. I have carried these lessons in leadership with me throughout my life, which is why I am unafraid to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.
I launched my campaign for governor because Hoosiers from Evansville to Elkhart and everywhere in between are hungry for a proven conservative leader who will stand up to Washington, DC, and Indianapolis insiders.
Our country is being led by a President and lawmakers in Washington who have weaponized our justice system against us to advance their political agendas.
Because of the reckless spending by lawmakers and unelected bureaucrats, Washington has created an economic crisis with record-high inflation making it harder for Hoosier families to make ends meet.
Our traditional, conservative Hoosier values and institutions are under attack by Washington and special interest groups who seek to silence our voices, diminish our values, and end our freedom.
If we are going to turn this around, the solutions will come from the grassroots level. States must stand up and lead the way. As a lifelong Hoosier, I believe: Indiana can and must be the model for what America needs to be.
Over the past few years, far-left politicians have tried to silence debate through cancel culture and frivolous legal action. They are attacking our way of life and silencing anyone who gets in their way.
They tried to silence me because they want to silence you.
Indiana is a state that has a “hometown feel.” Between COVID shutdowns and the disastrous policies of Joe Biden, the past few years have taken their toll on our “hometown” communities, and it’s time to rebuild it and show this nation what it means to be a Hoosier.
Our campaign is focused on a new dawn for Indiana.
As the Former Attorney General, I understand the challenges facing law enforcement officers and police departments. Through targeted investments in training, protection, and resources, we will recruit qualified police officers who will keep our streets and communities safe while we watch their backs. A police officer shouldn’t have to worry about being sued every time he or she draws their weapon. I have always supported law enforcement and stood beside the brave men and women in blue, and I will continue to stand with police as Governor.
We recognize the value of Main Street and will encourage the growth of small businesses that, for too long, have been hurt by big government. We will get the government out of the way and inspire our hometown communities to rally behind Hoosier small business owners. Indiana’s economy is built on a strong foundation of small businesses that we must protect from the overbearing arm of government.
To protect our children and give them the best opportunities, parents must be back in the driver’s seat of their children’s education. We will expand school choice initiatives and place student focus on critical thinking, not radical indoctrination. We will adopt early second and third language programs, teach advanced civics courses, and invest in critical vocational education to give all students the opportunity for a brighter future. Let us teach our children HOW to think, not WHAT to think, and keep radical curriculum and political agendas out of our classrooms.
As Indiana’s 43rd Attorney General, I brought executive leadership to a government institution in desperate need of revival. I fought to protect our Second Amendment, defend the sanctity of life, and restore transparency and accountability in government. I am a proven, conservative leader who has the courage to stand up and fight for what’s right.
As your next Governor, I will continue to fight for what’s right. I will fight for every Hoosier who wants their kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids to experience what they have and even more. I will fight for the small business owners who struggled to get by when Indianapolis shut them down during the Pandemic. I will fight Washington politicians who keep allowing special interest groups and lobbyists to control our state. Hoosiers want a fighter who will fight for THEM. I am that fighter.
I encourage Hoosiers from all walks of life and every corner of our state to visit www.curtishill.com and learn more about our positive vision for Indiana. We must be courageous to stand up and fight for our conservative values. These are challenging times to be sure. But Hoosiers do not shrink in the face of adversity. We rise up and fight.
