ELKHART, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has received more information regarding overt racist jokes being told by long-time and esteemed Elkhart attorney, Edward Chester. Just last month, a black woman claims Chester attempted to assuage her concerns about Chester making racist comments by telling her he isn’t racist, he just tells jokes about black people. The woman claims she questioned Chester about racist comments she had heard when he gave the absurd explanation.
Earlier this week, RNM published a story regarding one of those jokes in which he calls a black woman “nappy head” and compares the eyes of black people to those of frogs. Ed Chester, of Chester Law Office, has told the joke on multiple occasions according to people who know him, including the founder of REAL News Michiana, Clifton French, who heard the overt racism first hand.
The joke is making fun of a black man who wrote a poem for a black woman. The man shows up at work and looks like he has been in a fight. He explains his significant other beat him because of the poem he wrote for her stating, “nappy head, nappy head, eyes like a frog, get on your knees so I can f*** you like a dog.” Chester uses an insanely racist impression of a black man’s voice when telling the joke.
RNM’s Clifton French witnessed the joke being told multiple times by Chester, who was related to him by marriage at the time. RNM has also spoken with several other people who have heard the joke being told by Chester himself.
RNM reached out to Chester for comment several months ago. He never responded to RNM and instead sent an email to an attorney, who is in no way affiliated with RNM as a company, stating he would sue the business for defamation if we chose to publish the story. RNM looks forward to the discovery process and defending the truthfulness of the story in court if Chester decides to proceed with the threat of litigation.
Chester also disclosed sexual harassment allegations that he was facing for telling another inappropriate joke to a subordinate at his law firm. Chester told RNM’s Clifton French that he terminated that employee following the inappropriate comments he made and that he was fighting her unemployment claims as to further punish her. RNM is working to get more details regarding that incident.
PROLIFIC DEMOCRAT DONOR
Chester is a prolific donor to Democrat candidates and causes. According to records from the Federal Elections Commission, Chester has donated more than $20,000 to Democrat causes and campaigns since 2003.
Among the benefactors of those donations are Joe Biden, radical leftist Georgia Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, California Congressman Adam Schiff, Pete Buttigieg, Mel Hall, Joe Donnelly, John Edwards, John Kerry and others.
Not surprising. The Democrat Party has ALWAYS been the party of racism.
After contemplating this for a while, it seems to me that by Ed Chester threatening to sue for the publication of this story means that he knows it is unacceptable to make these racist jokes and remarks.
