SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A judge sentenced a South Bend man to two months in jail for abandoning two dogs in a house for months, leading to their deaths. According to court documents, 35-year-old Diondre Lewis left the dogs in locked cages inside of the home with an unreachable bag of food just feet away.
According to police reports, Lewis’ old neighbor called law enforcement in March of 2021, after smelling the dead dogs and spotting them inside of his old house in the 3600 block of Whitcomb Avenue. It turns out, Lewis had moved to Fort Wayne months earlier, leaving the dogs to die in their cages. Subscribers can read the entire police narrative below.

Someone should leave this guy to starve and rot in a cage. By doing it to anyone else or an animal, you indicate that you think that doing so is reasonable and acceptable. It should become your own punishment.
