
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A good guy with a gun stopped an attempted robbery where the criminal was armed with a knife.
According to arrest documents, on August 19th, 30-year-old Kevin Day of South Bend, approached a man at the OYO Hotel off of State Road 933 with a knife. The victim told officers that Day said “give me everything you got,” while holding the knife. The victim then pulled a gun on Day and told him to leave. Day then ran away.
Officers found day running through several backyards near the hotel. According to reports, Day admitted to attempting to rob a man but “he said he ran when the person pulled out a gun because he didn’t want to get shot.” Day also admitted that a black and gold knife found on his person was used in the attempted robbery.
