SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A South Bend Councilwoman introduced a resolution that partially supports the chemical castration and mutilation of the sexual organs of children, under the guise of LGBTQ rights.
South Bend Common Council member, Lori Hamann, introduced the resolution at last night’s meeting. The resolution states the city must focus on supporting and accepting LGBTQ youth beofre stating “we must remain vigilant in deterring all oppression and discrimination against people on the basis of sex, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation, including legislative restrictions and outright bans on gender medications…”
The “gender medication” used for trans youth is called Lupron (leuprolide acetate) and is also used to chemically castrate sex offenders in certain states. The drug can have disastrous side effects on children, including a loss of bone density, permanent damage to fertility, early menopause, depression, anxiety and other issues. Multiple doctors and the drug manufacturer have been sued multiple times for the effects of “off label” use — including the blocking of puberty in trans youth.
Other gender treatment includes the mutilation of genitalia, including mastectomies and penile inversion, which literally takes the healthy sexual organs and permanently alters them to appear to be organs of the opposite sex.
The resolution also uses statistics from the Trevor Project, an extreme left-wing organization that promotes the medical castration and surgical transition of children.
The resolution also lambasts a new Indiana law protecting girls’ sports, by preventing boys from unfairly competing against girls, and pushes for radical gender theory to be taught to children in public schools.
The resolution has no real teeth or legislative authority and is being used as a political statement during Pride Month.
