MISHAWAKA, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has discovered more disturbing social media posts by a Schmucker Middle School teacher going on racist rants about white people. In the posts on Twitter and TikTok, science teacher Danielle Cortez uses racial slurs and rants about how white authors should not write stories that include minorities as main characters.
In one Twitter post, Cortez is talking about a diversity discussion in the school library when she wirtes “I wonder which one of the yts is leading this discussion?”
The term “yts” stands for “whities” and is a racial slur.
In a video on TikTok, Cortez goes on a rant about white authors.
“I have a little bit of well intentioned advice for authors who choose to write diverse characters. Specifically white authors.” Cortez says. “Because if you’re not of that race, you shouldn’t be writing that story.”
Cortez has a history of radical posts. Many of which involve her job as a teacher. In September of 2021, RNM uncovered a video in which Cortez said she would agree to lie to parents about a child’s “preferred” pronouns and name they wish to be called, in order to protect transgender middle-schoolers.
The TikTok video has a caption that says “When my student asks that I use their preferred name & pronouns but not with their parents so they don’t get in trouble.” The caption is accompanied by Cortez lip-syncing to audio saying “My dear sweet child, that’s what I do. It’s what I live for.” Another caption in the video says “I love this job. #protectmiddleschoolers #transstudents #transkids #transgender #middleschool.”
Cortez also posted on Twitter celebrating her successful indoctrination of children into radical gender theory.
“Another student came out to me as trans today. Imagine being a 7th grader and feeling so safe and accepted in front of your peers and school community to be able to say ‘oh yeah you can call me ___ and I prefer __/__ pronouns if you want’ in the entire GoogleMeet. THE JOY!” Cortez wrote.
In November of 2021, RNM uncovered posts where Cortez was bashing police officers. In the post, Cortez is promoting the term ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards) while working at Schmucker Middle School and potentially incorporating the slogan and beliefs into classroom curriculum.
Principal: “Ok, so in a small group of 2 with someone sitting near you, discuss how your own unique life experiences, cultural identity, live (sic) events, or believe (sic) systems have shaped the way you teach your classes.”
“*Me and @nickishandsome (presumably another teacher), both grew up poor, ACAB/BLM/et all*”
The ACAB slogan has been adopted by the radical communist Antifa group, and was seen in graffiti in cities across the country during the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots.
Cortez also appears to be pushing Critical Race Theory teachings in the classroom. She shared a post about how to incorporate “Anti-Racist” teachings into lessons. The “Anti-Racist” push has been promulgated by critical race theorists such as Ibram X Kendi, who posits all white people are inherently racist because of their skin color, while all people of color are victims and oppressed.
That post was made in August of 2021, despite Superintendent Jerry Thacker telling parents CRT is not being taught at PHM schools.
RNM reached out to Cortez, Superintendent Jerry Thacker and PHM Communications Director Lucha Ramey for comment. None of them responded to RNM’s questions.
