ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has learned about a new Political Action Committee endorsing candidates for the Penn Harris Madison School Board. However, it turns out, the woman in charge of the PAC is the wife of a man who filed a successful petition to have an Army veteran kicked out of the same exact race for using his nickname of “MAGA” on his paperwork. It also turns out, the same woman is affiliated with a school counselor in central Indiana who has attempted to recruit young children into a controversial LGBTQ sex organization.
The new PAC called “Our PHM – Tradition of Excellence” was created just last week. Only days later, the PAC spent thousands of dollars on mail based political advertisements endorsing three candidates for the PHM school board race.
It turns out, the Treasurer of the PAC is a woman by the name of Elisabeth Rutten. Campaign paperwork shows the PAC’s address on Cedar Trail in Mishawaka is Elisabeth Rutten’s home address.
WHO IS ELISABETH RUTTEN?
Elisabeth Rutten is the wife of the controversial “Republican” St. Joseph County Council Candidate Anthony “Andy” Rutten, who successfully had a man removed from the PHM School Board ballot earlier this summer because he used “MAGA” as his nickname. Anthony Rutten, who is running as a “Republican”, endorsed an open socialist against the GOP’s Assessor Candidate in 2022. He has also been accused of changing his name to “Andy” in order to hide a history of legal issues dating back several years.
Elisabeth Rutten also has a close connection to a school counselor at Carmel Clay High School in central Indiana who has been criticized for using snacks in an attempt to recruit children into an extremely controversial LGBTQ sex organization.
RUTTEN ENDORSED FORMER PRINCIPAL FIRED FOR SLEEPING WITH SECRETARY
One of the people being endorsed by Elisabeth Rutten’s PAC is former Penn High School Principal Doug Chaffee. An RNM investigation earlier this year discovered paperwork in Chaffee’s personnel file showing he was constructively fired from PHM Schools for having sex with his secretary.
Chaffee has been mired in controversy since announcing his bid to run for school board. A separate RNM investigation earlier this year shows Chaffee had a protection order against him for harassing and attacking a young woman in late 2023. His son, Matt Chaffee, who is currently a member of the PHM School Board, has also been caught up in several scandals involving prostitution and illegal gambling.
