ELKHART, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has obtained video from an Elkhart Park Board meeting showing the board’s president refusing to support an annual flag event commemorating fallen soldiers. It turns out, the board president, Nekeisha Alexis-Baker (also known as Nekeisha Alayna Alexis) is a self described “anarchist” and radical anti-America activist who is the author of several anti-American articles and the founder of an anarchist website/blog.

During the City of Elkhart Park Board meeting on March 19th of this year, the Dunlap and Elkhart Lions Clubs were seeking a permit for an annual event known as “Flags From the Heart” held at Lundquist Bicentennial Park. The event is fairly straight forward: the clubs place flags in the park to remember fallen soldiers and to show support for veterans. Those flags stay up during the Memorial Day holiday weekend and are then removed. Pictures of the event can be seen below.

While the event should not be deemed controversial in the slightest, Board President Alexis-Baker refused to vote on it or show her support.

“I’m going to abstain if that’s okay. Can you put that down?” Alexis-Baker stated after all of the other members of the board approved the event.

Alexis-Baker was appointed to the Park Board by Mayor Rod Roberson in 2020. REAL News Michiana reached out to his office for comment on if the Mayor supports this type of non-support for fallen soldiers. His team refused to answer those questions. The full email chain with his Communications Director, Corrine Straight, can be read below.

It appears Mayor Roberson has somewhat of a history with Alexis-Baker. In 2019, he had her design posters and graphics for his political campaign. He posted about it to his facebook page in September of that year.

A RADICAL ANTI-AMERICA ANARCHIST

A quick internet search of Alexis-Baker shows decades of anti-America activism and writings. She is the founder of an anarchist website/blog known as JesusRadicals.com. The about page of the website states, “We explore the practical implications of of a Jesus-centered life and how that way of life may benefit from a critical engagement with anarchist political stances.”

She has written countless anti-America and racist, anti-white articles as well. In 2014 Alexis-Baker published an article titled, “White fear is irrational and deadly.” The article is a commentary about the murder of a young black man by an older white man, who was convicted and sent to prison for his crimes. Despite the facts of the horrific case, Alexis-Baker made blanket statements such as “Instead of calling this trial what it really is about — racism, classism and white supremacy culture intersecting with a culture of violence and white-male vigilanteism — the ‘news’ outlets continue to call this the ‘loud music’ case. So intense is the desire not to acknowledge the devastating impact of racism in our society that popular discourse about a case that is obviously laden with racist assumptions and presumed privilege will avoid naming the issue at every turn.”

Alexis-Baker also frequently writes about the evil “oppression” of eating meat and claims to be an “ethical vegan.” In fact, at the same board meeting in which she refused to support fallen soldiers, she also abstained from a vote for a permit for a children’s fishing event known as Fish Fest — where children are given free fishing poles and taught how to safely and ethically fish. Video of that vote can also be seen below.

According to the Anabaptist Mennonite Seminary website, Alexis-Baker is employed as the AMBS’s Intercultural Competence and Undoing Racism Coordinator (ICUR). Other sources show she is also a graphic designer and website specialist for AMBS.

Another case of communism hiding itself inside religion.
