NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Hundreds of students, staff and community members are planning to protest outside of a drag show that is being sponsored by the University of Notre Dame. “What a Drag Performance” is scheduled for tonight at 7:30pm at the Debartolo Performing Arts Center on Campus.
Despite nearly 500 students, alumni and others sending emails to Notre Dame administrators and department heads to express their concerns about the event, the drag show is scheduled to start as planned.
The protest is scheduled to begin at 6:15pm. A Rosary rally will commence when the event begins at 7:30pm.
The drag show is being sponsored by Notre Dame’s Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts Henkels Award, Department of Music, Gender Studies Program, Initiative on Race and Resilience and Department of American Studies.
