ELKHART, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has learned the Director of Concord High School’s Color Guard resigned only days after police arrested him on suspicion of drunk driving. According to arrest records, police arrested 37-year-old Ryan Paul Prebys for Operating While Intoxicated on August 6th. Court documents allege Prebys was drunk when they found him with his SUV in or near a ditch on SR 2 near Hollywood Road in South Bend. His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at .188. The full police report can be seen below.
According to Concord Community Schools records, Prebys submitted his resignation to the school district on August 11th, only 5 days after his arrest. The resignation was approved by the board on August 21st.
Sources tell RNM, Prebys appears to now be working with the Penn High School Color Guard in the PHM School District. Parents say he has been at every practice while also creating the choreography for the performances. However, RNM has not been able to track down any records to show he has been officially hired by the school district or that his presence at the practices has been approved by administrators or staff.
RNM reached out to PHM to get details about Prebys’ involvement with the Penn Color Guard. As of publication, we have not received a response.
