SOUTH BEND, Ind. — South Bend Police are investigating a shooting that happened on a school bus Tuesday afternoon. According to the South Bend Police Department, the shooting happened around 4:45pm in the 400 block of Teri Street, near Ireland Road. It does not appear anyone was injured.
REAL News Michiana reached out to the South Bend Community School Corporation for comment. As of publication, they have not responded.
However, sources in the school district tell RNM they believe the shooting was committed by a Jackson Middle School student who was on the bus. After the shooting, the student perhaps climbed out of a window on the bus and ran away. RNM is working to confirm those details.
