ELKHART, Ind. — An Elkhart school board member is getting criticism from the community after she went on a bizarre rant regarding masks. Babette Boling, At-Large Member, went on the rant at a special work session on Tuesday morning. A citizen in attendance recorded the nearly 15 minute diatribe where the board member seemed to address a crowd of less than a dozen people who were not allowed to comment during the working session. Boling is a fanatical advocate for masking children in school.
During the rant she discussed crones disease, a wedding in Colorado, having short arms, begging like a “little birdie,” her positive mind, a retinal membrane issue and other nonsensical ramblings.
“I’m a real, live human being, working my butt off every single day to be healthy!” Boling screamed as she slammed her fist on the table in front of her. “GIVE ME A BREAK!” She yelled later.
Her speech started out calm, but continued to escalate to louder and louder screaming, hand waving and table banging. You can see a mash up of the most dramatic ramblings below.
REAL News Michiana reached out to Boling for comment. As of publication, she has not responded.
Boling’s current term on the Elkhart Community Schools’ Board of School Trustees runs from 2019-2022. She is also one of the Board of Directors for the Elkhart Education Foundation.
