ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has learned a vandal targeted the home of District 7 Indiana State Rep. Jake Teshka (R) for having Trump campaign signs in his yard. Last week, someone drove several feet onto the Republican Representative’s property (where he and his wife live with their two young children) to run a campaign sign over.

“To the person who ran over my Trump sign last night, I’ve got a new one up in its place (you can even see your tire tracks!) and now two additional ones for good measure.” Teshka wrote in a post to Facebook along with several pictures.

Teshka and his family have been the targets of violent criminals before. In December of 2021, a man shot at Teshka and his two young children while they were driving on the US 20 Bypass. Teshka’s children were just three and six years old at the time of the shooting.

“One bullet passed my head within a couple of inches. This shows how precious life is and we’re going to live like inches matter, because obviously, they do.” Teshka told RNM at the time.

53-year-old Edmande Hill was eventually arrested, charged and convicted in the shooting. He was sentenced to six years in prison.
