SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Two employees of a South Bend gas station have been arrested for the illegal sale of the prescription erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. According to charging documents, employees at the Quik Mart located at 2603 South Michigan Street had been selling Viagra for approximately three months.
The Indiana State Excise Police began making control buys of the drugs in January. On July 30th, a warrant was issued for the arrests of 22-year-old employee Jagmeet Singh and 32-year-old manager Ravinder Singh.
According to charging documents, the gas station would sell the pills for $10 per pill or $15 for two. Ravinder Singh claimed that the pills were purchased from a man named “Sam” who sold the drugs to the gas station out of a box truck.
“Ravinder Singh stated that ‘Sam’ would sell the pills out of a u-haul style truck. Ravinder Singh stated that other locations were selling the pills too. Ravinder Singh stated that he buys the pills for $3 each, with the pills being sold 1 for $10 or 2 for $15. Ravinder Singh was aware that the pills were illegal to sell. Ravinder Singh estimated that 250 pills are in each pack that he purchased.” Charging documents state.
Ravinder Singh is facing two felony drug charges. Jagmeet Singh is facing one felony drug charge. The full charging documents with an incident narrative and interviews of the suspects can be read below.
