ELKHART, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has discovered the top cop of the small Starke County town of North Judson was caught shoplifting at an Elkhart Walmart. According to charging documents, Town Marshal Kelly Fisher was with her wife Christina Fisher when they were observed “‘skip scanning’ when purchasing items by holding multiple items at once and skipping over select items at the self-checkout.” The couple stole approximately $150 worth of men’s wear, candy and dog treats.

According to court records, the incident happened at the Walmart at 30830 Old US Highway 20 on January 25th. However, charges were not filed against the Fishers until March. Kelly Fisher accepted a plea deal for pre-trial diversion earlier this month.
According to town officials, Kelly Fisher submitted her resignation as the Town Marshal yesterday. Officials said they were recently made aware of the theft charges, but would not comment on anything further.
