SJC GOP goes full commie with “Right Think” pitch

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — REAL News Michiana has learned the new leadership for the St. Joseph County Republican Party, along with guidance from St. Joseph County Councilwoman Amy Drake, proposed sending an email to all party members telling them how they must think and behave in order to remain a “member in good standing.” According to four different sources with direct knowledge of the email, several elected officials refused to sign off on the “right think” email, causing GOP Chair Jackie Horvath and Vice Chair Joe Layne to reconsider their strategy.

“This is straight from the communist handbook.” One source, who wished not to be named, told RNM. “You must think a certain way or you’re out, no longer in ‘good standing with the party’? There’s no room for disagreement on anything? They’re pushing for unity through unanimity. They (party leaders) were told how bad this would look and they backed off for now.”

Sources tell RNM the email was also going to include another attack against REAL News Michiana for our reporting on issues within the party, as well as against Republican St. Joseph County Councilman Dan Schaetzle, similar to an email put out last month.

All of this comes as the new party leadership faces increasing criticism for their handling of issues including the controversial solar farm deal of which Vice Chair Joe Layne was part and the party’s push to force members to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements in order to be part of certain committees or leadership initiatives.
