In this REAL News Interview, we sit down with Spencer England, an Iraq war veteran who ran for Indiana’s State Senate District 8 seat earlier this year. England lost the primary in a three way race in which he took on incumbent Mike Bohacek on one side and millionaire Joe Layne on the other. Both Layne and England lost. Instead of taking responsibility for running a very bad campaign, Layne has claimed England was recruited to run in the primary in order to split the votes and help the incumbent win — a blatant lie. It turns out, Layne may have bribed England to drop out of the race early on. When England turned down the millionaire’s offer, Layne (who is now the Vice Chair of the St. Joseph County GOP) began an attack of disgusting lies, calling the retired Army veteran a traitor among other things. As recently as June, Layne described England to RNM as “the quisling Bohacek duped into helping him get re-elected.”
