SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Secretary for the St. Joseph County Council, Jennifer Prawat, took to social media to praise the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, according to sources.
“Close but no cigar.” Prawat allegedly wrote in a Facebook post sent to RNM, before going into a longer tirade full of lies to justify more violence against the President. “When Hitler 2.0 is on the horizon… you bet your sweet ass (I’m wishing death on President Trump). I’m looking out for the future of my children… the future of me… the future of all my living family members. Remember, this is a man who said he could shoot somebody and not lose any voters. This is from a ‘man’ who wants to put himself above the law in Project 2025.”
It appears the posts have since been deleted.
It’s important to note, President Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025, posting on Truth Social that he did not know what it even was or who was behind it. The Project 2025 policy push, which was put together by conservative think-tank The Heritage Foundation, is more than 900 pages long. It’s highly unlikely President Trump has read it or agrees with many of the policy prescriptions it contains.
PRAWAT ATTACKS MAGA
Recently, Prawat attacked a retired Army veteran who is running for PHM School Board and using his nickname of MAGA on the ballot. She went on to make strange remarks about how MAGA has evil hidden meanings.
PRAWAT’S COZY RELATIONSHIP WITH “CONSERVATIVE” COUNCILMEMBERS
Prawat serves as the Secretary to a Republican run County Council, which raises the question of how such a radical Democrat has been able to maintain a job under a conservative majority. It turns out, Prawat is close friends with Republican St. Joseph County Councilwoman Amy Drake. They are so close in fact, that Prawat babysits Drake’s own children, according to multiple sources.
“This woman is radically insane.” One source who is familiar with the relationship between Prawat and Drake told REAL News Michiana. “How Amy can trust someone like that to care for her own children shows extremely poor judgement.”
Prawat also endorsed Republican Randy Figg during the Republican primary this past May.
REAL News Michiana reached out to all of the Republican Councilmembers and the Council Attorney to get a statement regarding the disturbing posts made by Prawat. Amy Drake, Mark Root, Joe Thomas, Randy Figg and attorney Jamie O’Brien all did not respond.
Councilmember Dan Schaetzle was the lone Republican councilmember to make a statement.
“This post from Jenn is very disappointing.” Schaetzle wrote in a statement. “All Americans need to tone down this type of rhetoric.”
RNM also reached out to the new St. Joseph County GOP Chair and Vice Chair, Jackie Horvath and Joe Layne. Neither of them responded. This comes on the heels of the GOP’s efforts to reduce party transparency as Layne and Horvath have been pushing for people within the party to sign non-disclosure agreements.
RNM reached out to Prawat for comment. She responded in email by claiming she was not able to see the posts that were sent to her.
There are no county policies against the type of post made by Prawat. Currently it is only against employee policy if a comment were made on a county page or if Prawat was overtly representing herself as a county employee when making the statements.

As a county taxpayer I believe it would be in the best interest of St. Joseph Co. if Jennifer Prawat resigned or is removed from her position as County Council secretary. This woman demonstrates severe DTS and is making life threatening statements in social media venues. Considering an attempt has just recently been thwarted any and all threats should be taken seriously. I would also strongly advise that she get some professional mental support.

Her endorsement even makes me want to avoid Figg (even more, because i was already).
Seems quite a few mentally ill people run for office in this area. This is why South Bend leadership isn’t anything to be proud of.
