STURGIS, Mich. — A young State Representative out of Michigan wrote, published and is launching a parody of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s upcoming autobiography. Republican Representative Steve Carra’s book called “True Gretchen” is launching on Tuesday, exactly one week BEFORE Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s book, “True Gretch,” hits shelves.
“She’s going to talk about COVID-19, the kidnapping plot against her, abortion, Donald Trump.” The Representative from Michigan’s 36th District, Steve Carra, said regarding Governor’s upcoming autobiography release. “I was thinking to myself, ‘I want to write that book for her.’ So, I did.”
In just about 4-and-a-half weeks, Carra wrote the 169 page parody, self-published it and is now launching. The entire plan was to beat Whitmer’s launch timeline.
“It’s written in the first person as if Gretchen Whitmer is the one telling the story.” Carra said. “Obviously it’s the parody I wrote and she doesn’t frame the arguments the way I do… but, as you read through it, and those of us from our perspective, you read it and it’s like ‘well, that is actually basically what she is doing.'”
The book contains chapters with titles such as, “My rise to power”, ” Man made virus outbreak”, “Rules for thee and not for me”, “Reproductive tyranny”, “Environmental injustice” and more.
“The trip she took to Florida when she was telling everybody else to stay home, stories like that are all in the book.” Carra said. “The public knows some of these stories and some of these stories they’re not going to hear anywhere else.”
“She (Governor Whitmer) knows what I did.” Carra said. “I think she tries to ignore me. But, I don’t know how long that’s going to last for her because I think this is going to make waves.”
